There’s one staple item I’ve been avoiding for years for reasons unbeknownst to me. White Sneakers. They’ve always seemed sooooo sneaker-y, not sure if that makes sense. But there’s just no way to avoid the look of a white sneaker, they’ll always look like they’re made for function, not fashion.
But the last few months, I got real and realized that I didn’t need every shoe to be a statement. Sometimes a shoe is just a shoe or in this case, a sneaker is just a sneaker.
Now, I love this staple and realize that it can truly go with a multitude of looks. One of my favorite ways to wear it is wearing black and grey. White + Black = Grey and that’s why the look works and it brings it all together. A look, in essence, is a story that you’re telling.
When in doubt, use a white sneaker. In this all denim look, I let my white sneakers stand out. Granted, after taking these white sneakers around the world visiting 5 countries by the time I touched down in Malaysia they were a little “off-white.” I think the look still worked and told the story of the world adventure.
The simplest of outfits, not my favorite however it gets the job done in the way that you’re clothed for the day is a white tee, denim and white sneakers. Perfect for lounging or jumping around.
